EVENT: Purple Purse Challenge
My name is Rebekah, and I am honored to be a member on the Jr. Board for the YWCA of Middle TN. As most of you know, I am incredibly passionate about fighting domestic violence. This campaign represents an opportunity to love on the women in our shelter and make the decision to leave their abusers and seek safety just a bit easier... and furrier.
7 out of 10 that’s how many survivors of domestic violence say their abuser threatened, injured, or killed their pets.
1 in 4 that’s how many survivors say they delayed fleeing violent homes for fear that their pet would be harmed if she left it behind.
3 out of 4 that’s how many survivors of abuse say they stayed because of economic reasons.
By supporting the YWCA of Nashville & Middle Tennessee - YOU can help change these numbers.
The YWCA is launching the Pet Project, an animal fostering program for survivors of domestic violence. Your support can help take the control—both emotional and financial—away from abusers while protecting victims and providing safety to women and the animals they love.
