Family and friends,
When I first moved to Providence, I decided to join the Ronald McDonald House of Providence Running Club. This amazing organization is so much more than a running club- it is an opportunity to raise funds and support the Ronald McDonald House of Providence, an organization with a mission very near and dear to me. RMHP supports families with children from birth to 21 years old who are hospitalized or receive major medical treatment at nearby hospitals. RMHP provides programs that directly improve the health and well-being of hospitalized children and their families. The programs allow families to spend additional time with a sick child, help ease financial burdens, provide a sense of normalcy and keep families together during times of medical crisis. While volunteering at Emory Hope Lodge, and again throughout my career at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, I have witnessed firsthand the struggles that families with children in crisis face, and how important organizations like RMHP help to ease some of the burden.
This October 8th, I am grateful for the opportunity to run on behalf of my running club to raise funds for RMHP at the Newport Half Marathon. I will be running these 13.1 miles in dedication to all of the families and children that RMHP serves. I hope you will consider joining me on the roads of Newport by making a monetary donation to the Ronald McDonald House of Providence. Thank you all for your continued support of my running endeavors, and I look forward to passing another milestone this October on behalf of RMHP.
