Thank you and Update!

I wanted to reach out to you and say thank you again for supporting the College Bound Dorchester team - Alicia, Heather, Natalie and Marybeth. As you know by now, the tragic events at Monday’s marathon muted the celebrations of their accomplishments. However, we are thankful they are safe and everyone at College Bound is unbelievably proud of their efforts. We are also grateful for your support in helping them raise more than $25,000 that will support college preparation programs for Dorchester students. Their hard work and your support will impact the Dorchester community for years to come as we work to transform the neighborhood through education.

An update from our CEO Mark Culliton was sent out to the College Bound email subscriber list yesterday. Since you have not been added to our list, I wanted to share this with you and also invite you to join our community. You can read the message here - and you can sign up for our email list, “Like” us on Facebook or “Follow” us on Twitter using the links below.

We would also be pleased to welcome you to Dorchester for a visit to see firsthand the impact of your generosity. Please contact me with any questions or to schedule a visit. Thank you again for your support of our runners and of our students. Together, WE ARE COLLEGE BOUND!

I just wanted to take the time to thank all of you who have supported me in my fundraising efforts! I cannot believe how generous all of you have been - I am simply humbled by your generosity. I will be thinking of all of you, mile by mile, tomorrow during my 26.2 mile voyage from Hopkinton to Boston.
I also want to commend you for making a difference in the life of a child. Every dollar is going directly toward an incredible program focusing on at risk children and keeping them off the streets and in the classroom.
Thanks again!

Dear Family and Friends, Th…
Dear Family and Friends,

Thank you again for your support. Because of your generosity, I have exceeded my fundraising goal of $5,000, all of which will go to supporting College Bound Dorchester. Mark Culliton, the CEO of CBD, and one of the coolest people around, sums up the students served at CBD, and captures what I love about this organization: "The small number of young people who disproportionally affect urban classrooms and neighborhoods have been let down by the adults around them...These young people are powerful yet they are trapped in this veneer (of disruption) that breeds a culture of chaos and confusion. These few are the students we serve and the students we love. To those of us in this work, they are not problems or troublemakers, gangbangers or punks. They are teachers, youth workers, bankers and nurses...Effectively engaging those who wear this veneer of disruption represents the greatest opportunity in America".

Marathon Monday is only 5 days and several hours away! For anyone who is interested in keeping track of me on race day, you can sign up for text updates by texting my bib #(24076) to 345-678. Boston friends, if you plan on being on the course on race day, please let me know so I can try to look for you. I could use as many friendly faces as possible. Don't forget to tell me which side of the road you'll be on - runner's left or right.

I'll be wearing a white ss shirt with blue and orange "College Bound" logo (which I couldn't be prouder to be sporting!), white visor, black capris and possibly black arm warmers. My wave doesn't start until 10:40, and since I am in the last corral, I imagine I won't start until 10:50 or later. I am anticipating taking about 5 hours to finish. I will likely have my cell on me, so last minute location notifications can also be texted to me at 617 270-3532.

Thanks again for your support,

I still can't believe you donated almost $300!!! And that's on top of you making huge donations to all on our team! You are crazy! But crazy and very generous! Thank you for your thoughtfulness and generosity!

It has been wonderful having you as a teammate, even though I can't believe we never all made it to brunch together! I only wish I had been able to run with you all more, but at least I get to see your bright smiling face pass by each wk.

Thanks again so much!!
