BENEFITING: WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT
EVENT DATE: Mar 30, 2012
Dear friends and family,
We're Back!! In October 2009, we conquered the Marine Corps Marathon 10k and, in the process, raised a solid $2,070 for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Foundation. We are thankful for your generous support of our run and - more importantly - our veterans, and we remain truly humbled by your contributions!
Now, since one of us is in New York and the other one is in Tel Aviv, we will be running parallel events across the Atlantic! If you don't think we've lost our minds and have continued reading - thanks :)
To kick things off on March 24, Natalia will be crushing the NYC Half-Marathon with Lady Liberty watching. To complete the international road race domination campaign, on March 30, Sam will be lumbering through all 26.2 miles of the Tel Aviv Marathon (yes, in his toe shoes). We may be 6,000 miles apart, but we believe that thanking our men and women in uniform by giving back is a duty that transcends geography.
We have chosen to fundraise for the Wounded Warrior Project. For those of you not familiar with the organization, it is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization whose mission is to support and empower U.S. combat veterans who were wounded in service after 2001. Their free programs are tailored to different needs and are meant to encourage economic empowerment, community engagement, health support, and overall functioning in civilian life. We both feel that this organization does incredible, inspiring, and necessary work, but please visit their website or watch this for more information.
We very much appreciate your support in reaching our goals and supporting our veterans. Every dollar you give says to our soldiers, "You. Are. Awesome." and "WE'VE GOT YOUR BACK!"
Donating through Crowdrise is a proven and safe method...and, as if you needed any more incentive, your donation to the Wounded Warrior Project is tax deductible.
Thank you for your continued support,
Natalia & Sam
