The Abundance Project, Earthen Hand Natural Building, Youth for Social Change Myanmar, Asia Light Monastery & Foundation, and other partners are teaming up to offer a unique educational immersion in the mountains near Pyin Oo Lwin in upper Burma. The course, held  on site at the monastery from Jan. 7 - Feb. 3, 2013, will serve as the launch event and result in the first on-site structure built for the Myanmar Sustainability Education Center.

The center will host year-round trainings on peace, sustainability and justice as Myanmar heals from years of conflict. The center aims to demonstrate sustainable community and its design will merge the rich traditional, sustainable livelihoods of Myanmar's nationalities with cutting-edge sustainable design from the West.

We want to give back not only to the communities but to YOU, gracious supporter! This project will only be realized to its full potential with the global web of supporters that hold us up. Check it out:

Give 1,800+: We have space for 10 international and 15 local participants to join, making this one of the first chances for learners of all ages to come to Burma and participate in this course as a grass roots cultural exchange.

Participate in the course for 4 weeks and gain a lifetime of knowledge and memorable experiences. Learn natural building as well as sustainable living, yoga and Buddhist meditation while we live and work at the monastery, surrounded by the bamboo-covered mountains and lush organic gardens. Consider yourself a co-creator of the first sustainability education center in Burma!

Give 500+: Offset full costs for one local participant to attend. This person will be your penpal and send you photos, updates and letters before and during the course!

Give 100+: Receive a personal letter of gratitude from local participants upon completing the course!

Give 50+: Receive a traditional Myanmar craft as a gift!

Give any amount and receive our pure gratitude and an email full of thankfulness!
