What better way to celebrate our first year in Leadville with a climb of Mt. Elbert (highest peak in Colorado @ 14,440; 2nd highest in the continental U.S.) to benefit an amazing organization - No Barriers (recently merged with Global Explorers) - providing transformative experiences that empower people to embrace a “no barriers” mindset and discover the potential that lies within themselves and the world. I know - pretty ambitious - but spend a few hours hiking at high altitude with leaders, soldiers and youth of No Barriers, and you might just surprise yourself.
Sound familiar? Yes, we planned to climb Mt. Elbert last year, but got snowed out and retreated to Quandry Peak for a spectacular snow shoe trek up to 14,265ft. No complaints, but I'm thrilled to take on a peak in my backyard (not to mention a chance to host the crew right here in Leadville)! Mt. Elbert is calling us - with a nice clear ridge (despite this morning's dusting of an inch of snow).
Want to join in the challenge yourself? Pull together $500 and come climb with us on June 3!
Thanks in advance for any support you can offer to this climb and No Barriers!
