6 Weeks Out
March 26, 2016
EVENT DATE May 08, 2016
To our Dear Friends and Family,
Every other year in the month of May, Lancaster Bible College takes a group of students to the country of Israel for a 16-day educational tour of the Holy Land. We have been blessed with the opportunity to partake in this upcoming years trip. We will be touring all the geographical regions and major sites of the Holy Land. We will walk where Jesus walked in Jerusalem, see where He prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane, visit the traditional site of the crucifixion and the resurrection, and climb to the top of the Mount of Olives where Jesus ascended into Heaven. While in Jerusalem, we will see all the famous historical structures as well as the house of Caiphas where Jesus was taken when He was arrested.
We will also spend time traveling through other parts of Israel. We will visit the sea of Galilee, Capernaum, the Mount of Beatitudes where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount, the Dead Sea, and other incredible places where heroes of the Bible once lived.
Israel has always been a place we have desired to go, and we trust the Lord is leading us there at this time. Nate’s father has always urged his children to visit Israel at some point in their life in order to see the history of their faith first-hand. For the both of us, this is not just another trip. Our long-term goal is to be involved in ministry/missions full-time, and this trip is a stepping stone in that process.
We would ask that you spend time in prayer for both of us, as well as our entire team. You can specifically pray for: Safety as we travel to Israel and travel around it, flexibility and endurance during the 16-day trip, courage as we leave America and make our way to Israel, a boldness to witness for Christ when opportunities arise, and the finances needed. The financial need for the two of us combined is $7,000 as we will both be receiving 6 academic credits. Shelby will be receiving credit for her undergraduate degree and Nate will be receiving credit for Seminary. The bulk of our course work will occur prior to our departure for Israel and it will be completed upon our return.
It may seem strange to support financially as this is not a typical mission trip, but I do believe this time of educational endeavor will bear eternal dividends on our life and ministry.
Thank you deeply for your love and prayers as we take this step together. We are truly grateful for all the support you have shown through the years and now we thank you for your support as we follow the Lord to the Holy Land.
Sincerely, Nate and Shelby Miller
