BENEFITING: Range Of Motion Project NFP
EVENT DATE: Jul 01, 2017
As many of you know, I've been moving around Canada pursuing this new career path and passion of mine. I've recently completed my first P&O clinical year at BCIT. I recently found out about this amazing volunteer opportunity that I cannot pass up!
Range Of Motion Project (ROMP) believes in the power of education to transform the unequal distribution of prosthetic care in the world. Every year, ROMP's Ecuador program hosts clinical trips with leading P&O schools to facilitate knowledge exchange between students and ROMP's local staff.
Under constant faculty supervision, I'll get to work side by side with ROMP clinicians and real patients in their Ecuador clinic- I hope to exchange ideas/concepts, learn new clinical techniques, and work to improve patient outcomes.
I want to be the best clinician I can be by becoming more educated to the realities of disability care in resource poor settings and learn how to become an advocate. Hopefully some of the knowledge that I've picked up in school and previous clinical work can also transfer over to ROMP staff!
Each dollar raised will help me with program, travel costs and allows ROMP to continuously deliver high-quality prosthetic care. By donating, you're helping create mobility for thousands of amputees living without care globally.
