It’s time to plan for the best snowboarding event in the northwest, while supporting a great cause! If you raise $300 for the NC Foundation through Crowdrise, your entry fee will be covered, and you will be recognized as a Team Member with a special gift at the awards ceremony.
On March 19th and 20th, 2016, Whitefish Mountain Resort will host the 17th Annual Nate Chute Banked Slalom and Boardercross. The Nate Chute is the second longest running banked slalom in the U.S., the third longest in North America, and largest snowboard event in Montana. This “Contest for a Cause” raises money and awareness for the NC Foundation to provide support to at risk youth in Montana.
Over 100 snowboarders will race against the clock on Saturday down a one-of-a-kind, hand-carved banked slalom course through George’s Gorge. On Sunday up to six racers at a time will scream down an awesome course in a battle for first place in the Boardercross. It's all in the name of fun, comradery, good times and raising funds for the NC Foundation. Saturday will end with an Awards Ceremony for the Banked Slalom, while Sunday will include a Lap for the Lost after the Boardercross, followed by an award ceremony for the Boardercross, overall winners, and recognition of the Crowdrise NC Foundation Team Members! Winners of pro divisions receive cash prizes while winners of amateur divisions receive new snowboards.
The NC Foundation has been supporting mental health services and suicide prevention efforts in northwest Montana since 1999. Details about the programs they offer can be found on our website (see link below). They are so committed to these programs that every competitor that raises $300 or more dollars through Crowdrise will have their entry fees paid. Competitors must preregister for the event as usual. The NC Foundation will provide you with a check for the registration amount on the morning of the event at check in - when you get your bib, you will get a check!
The NC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation dedicated to reducing suicide among young people in Montana through suicide prevention education and training, mental health counseling, and efforts to reduce substance abuse and improve self-esteem.
