~ On October 29th of 1983 my son David Christopher Leon, who was just 10 years old was abducted and sexually assaulted. His emotional wounds robbed him of his childhood and many years to follow, needless to say he was never the same and those same wounds were with him until the day he tragically died in an accident. David was a beloved father, son, and brother. Because of his abduction I have been robbed of my son, a son of his father, and three sisters of their brother. We miss him every day he is gone.
On November 5th, 2017 I will run 26.2 miles alongside a team of 5 in an effort to raise money on behalf of the "National Center for Missing and Exploited Children." It is my family's sincere desire that no parent will ever have to go through the nightmare of having their child abducted. We as a family have waged war against the attack on innocent children. Running this race will not bring David back, but it may prevent another child from experiencing his pain. Our wish is that David's death not be in vain. Soon we will “Run Baby Run” in his memory and to raise money for awareness and education to prevent this tragedy from happening to another child.
