21 days till race day!
October 15, 2017
BENEFITING: Parkinson's Foundation INC
ORGANIZER: Parkinson's Foundation INC
I am honored and humbled to be able to run in the 2017 NYC marathon with Team Hope to benefit the Parkinson Foundation. This will be my first ever marathon and I am inspired that I can run to make a difference! I am also happy to share the running of my first marathon with Matt Brunke by my side. We are running in memory of his mother Nadia, who passed from Parkinson's Disease.
More than four million people around the world suffer from Parkinson’s disease. The disease is chronic and progressive, with symptoms ranging from tremor, stiffness and pain to difficulty in speech and swallowing, depression and memory loss. It is not only debilitating to the person but incredibly tough for their family and friends. That is why the National Parkinson Foundation (NPF) works every day to improve the quality of Parkinson’s care through research, education and outreach.
One day I may not be able to run, but Nov. 5th will not be one of those days! And I will run for those who no longer can!
