BENEFITING: National Stroke Assn.
ORGANIZER: National Stroke Assn.
On behalf of the National Stroke Association, I will be running the NYC Marathon on November 6, 2016. I am both honored and excited to have been chosen to run such a prestigious race. Not only will it be my first full marathon, but it will be one dedicated to those near and dear to my heart. My dad passed away when I was 15 years old of a sudden stroke. As the fifth leading cause of death in America, I believe that together we can help raise awareness to recognize the first signs and symptoms of strokes saving the lives of many loved ones.
This will be my second race this year with the National Stroke Association and I cannot say enough great things that this charity does to spread education among health professionals, caregivers and patients.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Sending love and gratitude to each and every one of you.
