For my dad
May 26, 2016
BENEFITING: National Stroke Assn.
ORGANIZER: National Stroke Assn.
In April 2016, my dad has a stroke. For a few days, he couldn't walk. All he did was slept. He couldn't remember anyone's name. He couldn't feed myself. Everything that was easy before no longer was.
In the weeks since, he has re-gained much of what he temporarily lost, but he still has a fight ahead.
One night after visiting him at the hospital, I took to Google to find a race I could do to benefit a charity. I found that I could run the New York City Marathon to benefit the National Stroke Association. My decision was clear and I completed my application.
I'm honored to have been accepted. My dad was thrilled when I told him. He'll be with me in NY for the race. In addition to my dad being a stroke survivor, he's also from NYC.
Please help me raise money for this important cause.
