On December 2nd, 2014 I was diagnosed with a Pneumonia that kicked my heart into Rapid Atrial Fibrillation (A-fib), which then caused me to suffer from a serious stroke. Fortunately, I received tremendous emergency treatment which greatly impacted my recovery. Due to the severity of the stroke, my family was told that I may not be able to ever walk again without assistance. Today, I am truly blessed to say that I am able to walk on my own and have made a full recovery. My stroke could have been life threatening for me, but instead, it was life-changing. It made me realize that my health should always come first, and to cherish every moment of life. After this experience, I have decided to set a goal for myself by walking every day and entering myself in the NYC marathon for the National Stroke Association. Any donations received will go directly to this association to further research and help other stroke victims work towards a full recovery as well.
