We’re the Natural History Society of Maryland, a nonprofit organization that offers engaging nature programs ranging from family events to in-depth courses. Many of our programs are free to the public and offer visitors a chance to connect with professionals who want to share their enthusiasm and knowledge of the natural sciences. One day you’ll find a room full of fossil shark’s teeth, and on other you’ll discover bears, or minerals, or even live owls.
In addition to programs, our museum houses an extensive collection of Maryland’s natural history including fossils, minerals, insects, reptiles, amphibians, birds, mammals, and plants, some collected in the 1800s. The Natural History Society is truly a unique place in Maryland.
