THE STORY:

URGENT: Natural Instincts Healthy Pet Center in Alpine needs your HELP!

We will be closed to relocate on May 28-31st to 2109 Alpine Blvd.

This beautiful location is central and offers plenty of safe parking. We will continue to offer all the end-to-end solutions for you and your pet with a much larger retail space to allow a better shopping experience.

More importantly, we will expand our rescue efforts! We will host several cats AND dogs for adoption.  These rescue animals will be saved from euthanization, then socialized, trained and cared for by us.  You will get a chance to view and interact with them in the store 7 days a week.  These dogs and cats will be up for adoption into loving, forever homes.

We need to raise $20,000.00 in the next two weeks to complete the construction of the rescue facility. Your donations will give dogs and cats HOPE and change many lives. Your donations are fun & valuable for you as well!

Read Our Full Story:

My husband Dan and I have a love for animals.  Dan has been training dogs for over a decade, and I have spent countless years researching pet foods, quality ingredients, and supplements for the health of our own pets.

We know when choosing a pet food, it can be confusing what foods are actually good for our pets, even for highly educated consumers.  As residents of Alpine, we were frustrated in the huge deficit of a large selection of quality pet products and services for our 4-legged family members.  We needed a place nearby to ask questions about how to solve our pet’s problems naturally.  We could have chosen a more lucrative location “down the hill”, but we wanted to make a difference in OUR community, the community we live in and love.

We used our passion to solve this problem ourselves and thus, in 2008, Natural Instincts Health Pet Center was founded as a safe haven for pets and the people who love them.

Besides the retail store and dog training, we included a self-serve dog spa and full-service grooming center with some of the finest cuts around.  A few years later, we added doggy daycare and boarding in a cozy, home-like environment.  We offer almost everything a pet owner needs to keep their pet happy and healthy.

We still want to do MORE!  That is where our COMMUNITY can get INVOLVED!

Rescue

We have adopted numerous rescue cats and a small number of dogs out of our store.  We don’t charge to adopt them; we don’t keep a penny from any of their adoptions; the adoption fees are 100% wisely utilized by one of the best rescues we know. We pay for all their food, toy, and litter needs; and we strive to find them loving homes by putting them on display. For current customers, you know “display” means the cat has the run of the store and essentially calls the shots!

Our current facility is not big enough to house more than 1-2 cats at a time and has no extra room for rescue dogs.  Adoption events are dependent on weather, rescue organizations availability, customer scheduling conflicts, and require intense staffing on our part.

The organization we work with rescued over 552 dogs and cats last year. More importantly, they are working to ensure the number of foster homes in San Diego County increases dramatically to help save shelter animals from being euthanized.

WE NEED TO DO MORE for these animals – to give them HOPE, to have the community meet and fall in love with these amazing cats and dogs, and to find them forever homes.

Today

After eight years at our current location, we have determined our current space is not big enough to hold our dreams.  When we turned down the request to sign a 5-year lease, we were asked to vacate within 60 days.  We are moving our facility and will be CLOSED May 28-May 31, 2015.

The future

We have found a beautiful new location here in Alpine and we are excited to make this move.  We will have a much larger retail space allowing for a bigger variety of products for our community and more accessible space - making your shopping experience even more enjoyable.  We will also continue to have all the invaluable end-to-end services we currently offer in our wonderful community.

Our dream to expand the animal rescue is big. We can help the nonprofits we work with by feeding, caring for and displaying more cats and even adding in dog rescue - every single day of the week.

Our new facility will move daycare, boarding, and dog rescue and adoption mostly indoors.  That means appropriate drainage, special flooring, adequate ventilation, fencing, and individual suites for these pets. With your help, we can make this happen.

We are grateful and blessed to be part of such an amazing community, surrounded by supporters who actively make a difference.

Please donate using the Cash Donations Rewards Program. Share with all your friends! THANK YOU.
