• Reserved Registration: MESP reserves Classic Distance registration entries for Corporate Challenge / Entertainment Industry Challenge athletes that commit to raising $250 by August 25th
• Team Scoring: If you raise $250 by August 25th you will officially qualify to be a part of your Corporate Challenge / Entertainment Industry Challenge team and will be eligible to have your race time count towards your team’s overall place against other corporations for the fastest team
• Team Racking: You have trained and fundraised with your team, now rack together too! Your team will receive a designated area with custom signage within the transition area for your team to rack their bikes. Great for a first time athlete looking for a little direction in the morning from a friendly face or just to enjoy the team spirit and camaraderie.
• Fundraiser Picnic – You’ve worked hard to meet the fundraising minimum, now enjoy the fundraiser picnic held on Zuma Beach on August 26th!

$350 by August 25th (July 28th for Swim Clinics)
• Post-Race Donor Brunch: Raise $350 by August 25th, and you will relax and enjoy a catered brunch on the beach after your race. You’ve fundraising and raced, and have earned your spot in the donor brunch.
• Swim Clinic Series: If you commit to raising $350 by July 28th, MESP will host a swim clinic series throughout the summer with triathlon coaches and plenty of life guards for you to practice your open water swimming. Swim Clinic Dates are as follows:

• Saturday, July 29th
• Saturday, August 5th
• Saturday, August 12th
• Saturday, August 19th
• Saturday, August 26th
• Saturday, September 9th

$500 by September 8th
• Early Packet Pickup: The event will host an early packet pickup in Burbank which makes picking up your race packet easy without having to travel to the beach. Athletes must raise a minimum of $500 by September 8th to receive this prize.
• Nautica branded towel: Raise $500 by September 8th and receive this extremely popular Nautica branded item!

• Nautica branded Sunglasses & Fragrance: Raise $750 and receive these awesome Nautica sunglasses and a bottle of Nautica Fragrance!

• XTERRA Wetsuits Dry Bag: Raise $1,000 and receive a light and versatile dry bag, ideal for organizing and protecting your gear from the elements!
• Family Brunch Pass – Raise $1,000 and upgrade your brunch pass to a family brunch pass (max 2 adults 2 children).

• Early Wave Start: Raise $2,500 by September 1st and receive the opportunity to start in an early wave.

• VIP Parking Pass: Raise $5,000 by September 7th and receive a VIP Parking Pass.

• Valet Parking: Raise $10,000 by September 7th and take the stress out of parking with valet parking.
• VIP Bike Racking: Raise $10,000 by September 7th and enjoy VIP bike racking in Transition Area.

Swim Clinics

For many, the swim leg of a triathlon can be the most daunting. MESP, professional coaches, and LA County Lifeguards are here to help with any fears you may have and improve your open water swimming! As a benefit for your fundraising efforts, we will be hosting a summer long swim clinic series and encourage you to join us. Come for one clinic or all of them, all ability levels are welcome. Swim Clinics will be held from 7:30am to 8:30am at Tower #10. You must raise a minimum of $350 if you are on a Corporate/Entertainment Team or $500 if you are a member of the General Public. Once you have raised the minimum amount you must register for the swim clinics by clicking here.

Tot Trot
Benefitting Children’s Hospital Los Angeles

The Nautica Malibu Triathlon is fun for the whole family. On Sunday September 17, 2017 Nautica invites all kids 12 years of age and under to participate in their own race – The Tot Trot. The Beach Dash will be 50 yards for children 7 and under and 100 yards for children ages 8-12. Participating children will receive a Tot Trot and Kids Run bag, a commemorative race medal and a race t-shirt. So bring your kids and cheer them on as they run for the finish line with a celebrity guest leading the way!

The Tot Trot has sold out for the past several years, so register now and tell your friends!

Fundraising Tips

• Make flyers and have them ready to hand out wherever you go!
• Approach your religious organization to form a team
• Ask if your company has a matching gift program. Most companies do, and it's an easy way to gain some extra support
• Fundraise via email and be sure to use Facebook and other social media sites
• Hold a party for friends and neighbors to learn more about Children's Hospital Los Angeles
• Get on the agenda at your next neighborhood, PTA, or committee meeting to ask for participation or donations
• Approach school leadership to form a team for students and their parents and faculty

Kids can fundraise too!
• Organize a car wash with a group of friends
• Collect recycling items from family and friends and cash in
• Offer to be a dog walker or babysitter for your friends and neighbors in exchange for donations
• Ask permission to put a "coin canister" out at school, work or local businesses
• Make key chains, friendship bracelets or other items and have a craft sale
• Post a link to your fundraising page on your Facebook page and invite friends to donate
• Hold a bake sale, yard sale or lemonade stand with all proceeds benefiting the hospital. Try advertising
beforehand in your local paper or by passing out flyers to boost business
• Instead of presents, ask for donations for your birthday
