Established in 2012, One Team One Fight is the formal partnership between The Navy SEAL Foundation and The 31Heroes Project. Since its inception following the August 6, 2011 Extortion 17 helicopter crash that killed 30 active duty military men and one service dog, The 31Heroes Project has supported and believed in The Navy SEAL Foundation’s mission.
On May 24, 2014 I will participate along with 88 other athletes in a classic (and very challenging) CrossFit workout called "Murph." The Murph workout is named after just one of the 89 fallen heroes. The total number of athletes in meaningful because since September 11, 2001, the United States Navy SEALs have lost 89 active duty operators. I, along with the other athletes, will each represent one fallen Navy SEAL. The SEAL I will represent is Stephen M. Mills (http://projects.militarytimes.com/valor/navy-special-warfare-operator-chief-petty-officer-seal-stephen-m-mills/6567914), who perished at the young age of 35. As I prepare for this event, I am committing my best as not only a teammate of this elite brotherhood, but to a son, husband, father, and friend to many.
I appreciate any donation you are able to make --- no amount is too small. And if you are not able to make a monetary donation, please take time this Memorial Day weekend for a moment of thanks to all the service men and women who afford us our freedom.
