This weekend I will participate in the Navy SEAL Memorial Challenge, a fund-raiser with 89 participants in honor of the 89 Navy SEALs and Special Operators who have died since 9/11. I do this in honor of all those who have fallen and I will specifically participate in memory of Kraig M. Vickers who was 36 years old when he died in August of 2011. (see profile in second photo)
I have fully paid my own entry and invite friends and family to help contribute to this great cause to benefit the Navy SEAL Foundation, a 501 (3) C organization.
The event is a CrossFit workout consisting of 1 Mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats and a 1 mile run while wearing a weighted vest. This is the workout commonly referred to as ""Murph" for LT Michael Murphy who many know from "Lone Survivor" which depicts his actions during Operation Red Wings.
The Navy SEAL Foundation benefits families of fallen and disabled SEALS. 100% of donations go to the families. All administrative funds for NSF are raised separately. I am an organizer as well as participant for this event.
Please take just a moment to donate before the Memorial Day weekend if this is a cause that inspires you as well.
