The Nayeli Faith Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non profit created by the parents of a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) survivor. CDH occurs 1 in 2500 live births and has a 50% survival rate. Please visit our website for more information on the birth defect.
The Nayeli Faith Foundation: Assists families facing a CDH diagnosis, families with a CDH child in the hospital, families who have taken a special needs CDH child home, and families who have lost a child to CDH. We also fund CDH research at the University of California/San Francisco, as they have a program that focuses on the birth defect.
Lastly, we strive to bring public awareness to the birth defect.

I am blessed to have become friends with the Nelson family. I first met Liz about 2 years ago at our church Crosswinds in Dublin. We were both going through a troublesome time. Liz was pregnant with twins and feeling overwhelmed. She told me about the dificulties she had with her daughter Nayeli, who was born with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. I had never heard of CDH before and just started to learn more about it. I Also learned more about sweet Nayeli the warrior miracle. My daughter Sierra (5) and Nayeli (4) have become friends. It's so awesome to see that this CDH survivor is so daring and working hard to keep up with her friends at the playground. I was unaware of the heartache and financial hardships that parents would go through with a birth defect that isn't so widely known. So I felt compelled to do something to help.
I am taking on the physical endurance challenge of running this 1/2 marathon. To symbolize the emotional pain it takes to get through a challenge in life. We have all had difficult or seemingly impossible mountains to climb. The truth is that through our faith by which we walk, we will get through it. If my heart can transform from weak and broken to strong and full. Then I hope that yours can too. Whether you have endured CDH with a child or family member. Or if you have never heard of it before visiting my fundraising site. I hope you will take the first step in faith that your help through donation will help a family who is struggling. And I pray that when you are in need then we will be here for you. THANK YOU. http://www.crowdrise.com/nayelifoundation2012/fundraiser/ameliajane
