BENEFITING: NORTH BALLET YOUTH COMPANY INC
EVENT DATE: Dec 14, 2013
The North Ballet Youth Company is a recognized 501c3 charity organization that produces an annual Nutcracker performance in the Elk River, MN community. We are currently seeking sponsors and donors to support our fundraising efforts.
The list of projects that we are raising funds for can be found below. if you are interested in donating to a particular project, please designate that when making a donation. If you wish to donate or fund an entire project, please also notate that in your donation notes. All donations of $1,000 or more will be recogized on our special "Donor Wall" which is located inside of North Ballet Academy in Rogers, MN. Donors of $200 or more will be recognized in the Nutcracker Program.
1. UPDATED COSTUMES: (Budget - $4,000)
We are slowly bringing our costumes up to date, but this takes time and a lot of funding. Each year we pick a dance or a scene to "upgrade" from the original costumes and with this money added to our existing costume budget, we can overhaul the majority of the costumes.
2. WIRELESS HEADSETS: (Budget - $500)
Communication is critical between the stage manager, the light box and the director of the show. These wireless headsets would make that communication consistent, clear and MUCH easier then being tied down in one spot with the current wired system.
3. PROFESSIONAL GUEST ARTISTS & ACCOMODATIONS: (Budget - $4,250)
Adding the professional ballet dancers to our production continues to help our performance shine - even when comparing it to the full "professional" productions that you would see downtown. Although the professionals add a lot the overall production, it requres significant funding in order to bring them in. Hotel, airfare, food and travel are included.
4. PERFORMANCE MARLEY: (Budget - $5,000)
The flooring that the dancers perform on is a specialized floor called "Marley". Currently the performance requires four large secions of specialty floor which are rented from the studio. Having our own Marley would allow the performance to grow and travel beyond the one day of performances that we currently have.
5. STORAGE TRAILER 20': (Budget - $6,000)
The 20' storage trailer would allow us to store all of our props, stage flooring, throughout the season and would also allow us to transport costumes and other "temperature specific" items all at one time. The Youth Company currently rents an outdoor storage facilty that houses the props and utilizes an indoor facility to house the costumes. This trailer would also allow us to travel and expand our performance opportunities, making "moving the show" MUCH easier....hook the trailer up to a truck and go!!
We want to thank you for taking the time to help us achieve our goals. These goals are lofty and may take years to accomplish, but our program and our production will be forever grateful. We hope to hear from you and in the very least, we hope to see you at the Nutcracker this year.
