NATIONAL CENTER FOR ARTS & TECHNOLOGY wrote -
To help cure “cancer of the spirit” prevalent in impoverished communities, NCAT is working to achieve Founder Bill Strickland’s goal of establishing Centers for Arts and Technology in 100 communities across the United States and another 100 around the world.
Through its replication process, NCAT works collaboratively with communities to develop studio-arts-based education programs for middle- and high-school-age youth, career training programs for adults and social enterprise ventures to support operations. Most importantly, every Center for Arts and Technology embodies Manchester Bidwell’s core philosophies: 1) people are assets, not liabilities, 2) environment shapes lives, and 3) creativity fuels enterprise.” Through its growing network of Centers for Arts and Technology, NCAT is helping communities break cycles of poverty and despair and find a better way forward.
To date, seven Centers for Arts and Technology have been opened in the United States, and two additional Centers for Arts and Technology will be opened within the year. Over 85 communities nationally and internationally are currently working with NCAT to start or complete the replication process. Your donation to the NCAT campaign will help increase our capacity to partner with communities and save the lives of youth and adults who are living in poverty.
