Hey amigos! For those of you that haven’t come and visited us in Guatemala yet you should. You have a month left to catch us here in the magical city of Antigua. When we aren’t in Spanish class or out exploring the city we are Volunteering with an amazing organization called Niño’s de Guatemala. They have two elementary Schools and one middle school they founded and run in the towns outside Antigua that provide free education, meals, school supplies, family counseling, and community support for students that otherwise would not go to school.
I am currently assisting with the a first grade class in the elementary school Nuestro Futuro and Morgan is teaching an abstract art class with the older kids in the middle school (giving them the opportunity to express themselves through painting).
We believe in what they are doing and would like to do what we can to help. We see the impact these schools are having on the local community and on the lives of children (and their families) that otherwise would never have the opportunity to attend school.
We are raising money to help fund the regular operating expenses of the school (pay the local teachers’ salaries, buy meals and supplies for the students, cover utility bills etc). If you would like to help as well and have $10, $15, $20 to spare the students and their community would very much appreciate it.

All money raised goes directly towards the support of our schools and projects, and will aid immensely in the development and the future of the organization.
It is one thing to build a school. It is another to keep it running. We rely solely on donations to keep all of our 470+ children in school, equipped with all their school supplies and with full bellies. We also pay all our teachers fair salaries and ensure that the school is kept clean and cared for. Every little bit helps when providing these children a quality eduaction.
Thanks for your support.
