EVENT: Red Ribbon Walk & Wrap
According to research, school gardens improve academic achievement, healthy lifestyles, environmental stewardship and social development (California School Garden Network, 2006). The mission of the School Garden Project is to help North Dade middle School create, sustain, and use onsite gardens by providing resources, professional consultation, and educational programming. We envision a future in which our school garden education program will help our students become healthy adults who eat their fruits and vegetables, know the basics of growing food, and contribute to a thriving community. After all, Florida produces more fresh fruits and vegetables than any other state in the country except California!
