BENEFITING: THE NEW ENGLAND CENTER FOR CHILDREN INC
EVENT: 2017 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 17, 2017
The New England Center for Children provides a full range of educational, residential and treatment programs designed to help children with autism, PDD and other developmental disabilities reach their full potential. Our programs are designed to give children with autism a strong foundation on which they can learn, grow and thrive. NECC programs offer a continuum of services for children at various ages and levels of ability.
Emphasizing independence, skill development, and safety, our educational services have been carefully developed to deliver superior care and heightened learning opportunities for each child we serve. To that end, our services complement our programs by teaching students with autism through real world opportunities and experiences essential to physical, cognitive and psychological growth.
Using state-of-the-art Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) teaching methodologies contained in the Autism Curriculum Encyclopedia (ACE) we focus on teaching our students the skills they need to increase their abilities to function and communicate successfully with as much independence as possible. NECC's curriculum focuses on academic, speech and language, social and life skills development, vocational training, physical education, occupational therapy, family services, outreach services and health care. All NECC services have been carefully developed to deliver superior care and heightened learning opportunities for each child we serve.
Through the John Hancock Non-Profit Program, we have received entries into the Boston Marathon. These team members will commit to raise awareness, valuable resources for the school's Annual Fund, and go 26.2 miles to support our students.
