Organized by: gregg Dutcher
My friend Don Sanders is a quadriplegic and needs constant 24 hour, 7 days a week, 365 days a year help with everything he needs to do in a day.His 80+ year old mother is his only constant companion who takes care of his every need everyday. He is 54 years old and has been in this situation, he and his mom, since his motorcycle accident when he almost died at 17. Do to complications and criteria of the Social Security Administration Don only receives a small check from SSI with only Medical, no MEDICARE. Due to limitations in the federal budget, powerchairs are very, very difficult to replace with new ones. Don has a barely working powerchair that requires daily repair with ducktape to keep it working. Don and his mom live in a low rent poverty stricken neighborhood condominium complex. The local food bank their supplemental supply to pay for food and their expenses to make it. My friend Don desperately needs a new powerchair. One that can get him around town, on the bus, and the places he'd like to and needs to go to. A quality powerchair can be as much as 15000. dollars, but any amount of donation would be greatly appreciated and is Don's only hope to get a new powerchair. I hope everyone who reads this would give even a small donation towards that goal. And from Don and his mom,...and me, we thank you in advance, goodbye.
