My name is Abdikadir Luhiso, and I’m 23 years old. I was born in Somalia and raised in the Refugee Camp in Kenya, I came to America with my family with my mom, dad and sister’s and brother’s, and when we came here we didn’t speak English or know how to write. We were responded to come with the helped from the church. The people were kind nice and helped us my family and I get around until we get use to the new culture that we came into, and helped me and my sister’s go to school and after school we would have a tutor at home help us with reading. but In school I started in 7th grade and my sister’s they started at Elementary School to work our way up to college. But coming from Africa to America it was such long airplanes rides and it took us a two nights and daylight, and not to mention the Turbulence experienced while crossing the Atlantic Ocean, and when we arrived at the airport we were scared because we couldn’t see anyone that we know; so we started getting off the plane and someone walked up and directed us to a gate number. When we got there they were people waiting including one of my older sister and her husband to welcome us. They took us to our new home and showed us around the school and the first thing I said to myself was I promised to graduate from high school and hope to go to college, and I hope live with my promises and the America dream to continue believing there is still hope out there to achieve. I am asking for people to help me raise money for college and hope to pay back some of my student loans. I would not afford taking any more loans because I’m afraid to be deficit or ended-up pay back for the rest of my life. Which I attending school (college) Everest University, and I am studying business management for an associate degree and looking to be transfer to a 4 years college once I’m finished with my 2 years associate, and I need to raise at least $ 10,000.00 that’s my goal for this fundraising, so please I asked anyone to help me into succeeding in my education and my future.
