Neighborhood Cats

BENEFITING: Planting Peace

Andrew Simpson

This summer a mother cat and her kitten choose my back porch to find shelter from the neighborhood dogs. I was always told never feed a stray cat... Well I couldn't listen. These poor cats were too skinny and needed help. So I began feeding them. Raw cows milk, good whole foods like I feed my two dogs. Before I knew it they became very healthy but no one seemed to want to adopt these cats. Craigslist and posters around the local area didn't seem to spur any interest either. Now as my luck would have it these two cats have had two litters of kittens each under my porch. One litter shortly after they arrived and then another litter a few months after the first ones. I had no idea cats could reproduce so quickly.

I am trying to raise money to help these cats find good permanent homes with loving people. First the females need spayed so there are no more litters of joy coming about. Then the males as able to possible. I think a neutered cat will be easier to find a home for. Also help with food would be awesome. They all live out side on my back porch and come in occasionally when it gets too cold. Glad it's Florida and doesn't get cold too often but a little shelter out there would be nice for them. I would love to keep them all but I have just been laid off from my job and the bills are starting to add up. They all need their shots but are very healthy.

The cats are mostly all black and a few calico. They are dog friendly and enjoy human interaction and affection. Please help me help these cats.

The Numbers
2 - mother cats
7 - young cats (8 months)
8 - kittens (5 months)
