Reasons #8 and 9 to support DSAGR (gotta double up...runnin' outta time)...
September 30, 2016
EVENT DATE: Oct 08, 2016
Hi Friends & Family! Thanks so much for visiting my fundraising page! As most of you know, I am a cool dude who just happens to have an extra chromosome that adds a few challenges to my life (but has also brought some pretty terrific people into my and my family's life :-) . I love rockin' out to music, swimming, all things pirate, reading Pete the Cat books, and especially hanging out with my big sister Madelyn. We hope you can join us for some family fun on Saturday, October 8th at the Innsbrook Pavilion for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Richmond's (DSAGR) Step-Up 5K and Family Festival! (Don't worry, we are doing the 1 mile walk, not the 5K race, so you can join us for that if you're not into running :-) If you can't join us, we hope you will consider donating to DSAGR! It's a great organization that gives me lots of opportunities such as fun activities with friends at the local DS FunQuest social group, a Learning Program to help me with reading and math, a Transition Program (to help my Mom & Dad help me as I get closer to being a 'grown up'), educational conferences, family camp weekends in the beautiful mountains of Virginia, and people who advocate for me and other folks with Down syndrome in State and Federal legislation. DSAGR is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, which means it relies completely on donated funds to run all of its programs that benefit me and others. We think it's such a terrific organization that my Mom volunteers her time as a DSAGR board member and as a parent teacher for the Learning Program. Hope to see you on October 8th!
