I am coordinating a collaborative effort to raise funds for the renovation of Nepal Higher Secondary School at Ratnanagar, Tandi.
Since its establishment in 1956 (2013 BS), Nepal Higher Secondary School (Nepal Ma Vi) prepared thousands of students for the most exciting journey of life. Some of us took that journey abroad for various reasons. This academic year alone, some two thousand students regularly attend the Nepal Ma Vi. Most of these students come from lower economic, labor, indigenous and Dalit backgrounds. The school is committed to providing quality education to these students and students who will join the school in the future. But, school’s physical infrastructures are crumbling. The situation became worse since last year’s earthquake. The weak school buildings became even weaker after subsequent aftershocks and many of them have leaking roofs now. As a result, many of the classrooms are physically unsafe. School’s basic education infrastructure such as the library, basic science, and computer laboratories also need renovations and upgrades.
The school is currently looking for financial support from alumni support to install truss with tin roof to take care of leaky roofs and have additional rooms that can be used for conducting classes or set up laboratories. The cost estimate for this renovation is Nrs. 37,00,000/- (Thirty Seven Lakhs Nepalese Ruppes). We together the alumni of Nepal Ma Vi can shoulder this responsibility and show our love to alma mater and bring environment for good educations to our brothers and sisters who are thankful for our generosity and care. Let’s make a significant difference in those lives.
I hope you all will come forward to leave a lasting impression as an alumni on Nepal MA VI.
