Young girls in Nepal are not getting a much desired and deserved education because of inadequate schools. The cycle of poverty needs to change and your help is needed to make that cycle end.
The community development program at Edge of Seven supports building projects in the Everest Region of Nepal, a district containing 107,686 people. One quarter of the population of Nepal, approximately 7.1 million people, still live below the national poverty line of $1 per day. In order to reduce poverty in the Everest Region of Nepal, we have created a project that will reduce poverty in five communities, serving approximately 8,600 people, over the course of one year. This multi-faceted project will address six of the eight MDGs for tackling extreme poverty in its many dimensions. Edge of Seven has teamed up with Architecture for Humanity to reach as many younth as possible. The goals are:
- Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
- Achieve universal primary education
- Promote gender equality and empower women
- Reduce child mortality
- Improve maternal health
- Ensure environmental sustainability
These schools will give the children of the Everest Region a way out of poverty. When you educate a girl she takes that education back to her village and helps the next generation. She helps to fight disease, malnutrition and vilence. She's willing to stand up against poverty will you help her? Take a few minutes to view Change Begins with Her. Your help is needed to build these schools. Donate today!
