My mom, Nery Loggia, was diagnosed with non-hotchkins lymphoma in January 2011, apparently the most curable cancer there is. She was turned away from the hospital after 6 months of CHEMO and surgery when the 12 inch tumor blocking up her large intestine got bigger. After long a month long stay in the hospital she was advised to enter a nursing home and to figure out the rest of her cancer journey on her own. The next step is to get her to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Philadelphia ASAP because there is hope for her there. But the anxiety of loosing her short-term medical leave status at work is always on her mind. She was told the cancer would be gone by now and she could get back to work, but it's not. Now she has to start at square one with treatment. The only difference now is that she can't walk, take care of herself, or afford the mounting bills that are piling up.
I give her a large percentage of what I make but it's not enough, and I recently lost my job because I missed a few days just trying to be there for her when the doctors needed to discuss options and when moving her to the nursing home.
I know that since we have such a large supportive and loving family, our prayers and efforts to get her the best care we can will help her survive this, but the bills can't be payed with prayers and phone calls. She needs your help to get through this without loosing her home and everything she has. She needs a home to come back to, to start her life again from. Please help!
