It's summertime, so that means it's time to climb some trees, scout for endangered species, and save some old growth forests!  See more

BENEFITING:

Northwest Ecosystem Survey Team

THE STORY:

NEST is the Northwest Ecosystem Survey Team, it is an all-volunteer group that climbs trees to document endangered species in the area of pending timber sales. One such species is the Red Tree Vole, which is a primary food source for the Spotted Owl. For each and every Red Tree Vole nest that is found and documented, 10 acres of old growth forest are saved from being clear cut.

NEST has found hundreds of Red Tree Vole nests in areas that were slated for logging, and thousands of acres of forest have been saved, as a result of NEST surveys.

So please help keep this great all-volunteer group safe and equipped with a small donation that will make a big difference!
