We believe that education and awareness are the first steps to ending the commercial sexual exploitation of children.
Through our partnerships with other organizations fighting sex trafficking and child sexual abuse, we are distributing a curriculum using footage from the feature documentary, PLAYGROUND, and the short film, JESSICA'S STORY, to high schools in North America. We plan to use the funds to develop our educational programs and outreach so that we can continue to adapt our materials for the many school systems that are contacting us for support.
An astounding 300,000 children in America are at risk of exploitation and trafficking each year, with many children being forced into the sex trade around age 13. NEST’s mission is to support worldwide efforts to end the commercial sexual exploitation of children in a comprehensive fashion, starting with the United States.
We strive to address the cultural, legal, and economic dynamics that underscore these exploitative activities, and to engage a diverse group of stakeholders including concerned citizens, survivors, youth, social service providers, educators, law enforcement, government leaders and artists worldwide. Specifically, NEST’s goals are to raise awareness of exploitation and trafficking, prevent victimization of American youth, protect children who have already been victimized, and enact and enforce legislation to achieve these ends.
We believe in the power of youth to turn the tide on this epidemic and are doing everything we can to empower them. We hope you'll join our team!
