As most of you are aware, I leave bright and early tomorrow to bike 203 miles to Portland.
I am shouting out for a last minute, but very important show of support and use this opportunity to help someone else. Out on my training rides over the past four months, I have been inspired by many other cyclists from a group called “CRUSH KIDS CANCER”. I saw the shirts more and more frequently on fellow bikers and took the opportunity to learn more.
Awesome dad Alex, sitting in a hospital room with his son for a long period of time while he was getting cancer treatment, knew he had to make something good out of the situation. So he started this non-profit. I have met him now a couple of times, seriously a dedicated man. I got to meet his son Owain tonight at their house, he is a thriving young teen…….He has raised a ton of money over the past two years to directly benefit research through Children’s Hospital. I think we can help too.
Ok, so not looking to raise a TON of money, but want to try and make a little dent…….
How about this……..willing to donate $.10/for every mile I bike? A much cheaper rate than gas to get to Portland………well I think (too late in the night to do math). I am starting the donation with $20…..and would love for you to join me too.
Ok that is all. I have eaten more buttered noodles just now to sit in my gut for “fuel” for tomorrow.
Thank you all for always supporting me in so many ways.
