Imagine that you could help a survivor of domestic violence gain freedom by removing one of the barriers to independence: a deposit on an apartment, English as a Second Language classes, basic car repairs, uniforms for work, assistance with tuition, fees for legal documents, bus tickets, and so much more. 

When Mala came to New Beginnings motivated to get a place of her own, she felt stuck. Her ex-husband had opened credit cards in her name, racking up loans and not paying the bill. The apartment she was hoping to move into wanted her to pay first and last month's rent, plus a huge security deposit because of her poor credit. New Beginnings gave her the funds she needed, freeing Mala from this barrier to independence. She moved into her own apartment a month later.
