BENEFITING: FAYETTE COUNTY ANIMAL RESCUE
Over the past 3 years we have renovated, updated, expanded, fixed and otherwise overhauled the shelter at Fayette County Animal Rescue. If you haven't seen it you should - we look amazing! Seriously - the environment we have created for our babies is healthy, invigorating, fun and enjoyable for them while they wait for their forever homes. And we want to make it even better. Our next project is to finish tearing down the remaining pens that were cobbled together years and years ago and replace them with heavy duty fencing and make them bigger. This will make 4 single or double senior yards and one extra large yard. This will also replace one side of our fence that encompasses all of our outside yards.
Total cost is $9,288.
Here is the breakdown: - $7,500 fencing and installation - $488 carport covers (we only need 1 new one, will re-use/move the rest) - $300 dirt - $500 landscaping (we need to add quite a few trees and bushes throughout the outdoor yards for shade) - $200 dump fees (estimate); disposal of all old fencing, posts, debris - $300 move faucets to accommodate new yard configuration
This smaller renovation project will complete the upgrade of all but 3 yards on our entire property. The new yards and gates are heavy gauge chain link fence with the appropriate rods along the bottom and reinforced top. This is so important because when originally building our shelter we used residential gauge chain link from home improvement stores and we have had to patch constantly as the dogs just shredded it. In addition, we had to block digging with railroad ties, cement, bricks, etc. which ended up blocking water run off. We are cleaning out 15 years of patchwork, donated low quality materials out and replacing it with proven dog-proof materials that will last us for years and years to come. We appreciate your support of this very important project that directly benefits the animals at FCAR. We've include some pictures of before and after yards to give you an idea of the difference it makes and why this is so needed. Thank you for your support!
