BENEFITING: SKYLANDS ANIMAL SANCTUARY AND RESCUE
For my birthday I had this crazy idea, ask the slaughter house for one live chicken, and bring her to a sanctuary. First, I called my friend Mike Stura, at Skylands Animal Sanctuary and Resuce, to see if he could take a wee rescue chicken, he said yes! Then I asked the slaughter house owner if he could part with one chicken, for my birthday, and I told him I'd bring her to a sanctuary. He said yes! One week later I brought doughnuts to thank them, and figured "hey, why not ask to save another life?!" So I did, and they said yes, again!
Thing is, Mike has lots of little egg laying hens, they're so small and they're delicate, so my soon to be big rescues, will be too big to share their space. Right now the wee rescues are small, and they're loving life with their new duck best friends, but they'll need their own little house soon. Mike and Wendy Stura have poured their hearts into Skylands Animal Sanctuary and Rescue, and I'd love to help them pay for the expense of a new chicken house, and for the care of the chickens I've brought to them (and hopefully the many more they'll be able to rescue). Every dollar helps, and I'll be forever grateful for your financial support. (So will the two sweet loves that I brought them, and those who aren't there yet, but will surely be coming)
