Lynn Denton's Fundraiser:

A safe new home for Natile Martin and her 5 children

I have donated $3,000 for a new home for a family in Jamais Vu (Côte-de-Fer), Haiti. Many other very vulnerable families in that remote community still need safe homes after the earthquake of 2010.

I would like to ask my family and friends to collectively match my donation so that a second family can have a safe, new home.

The $3,000 donated by friends and family will buy a new home for Natile Martin and her 5 children. Her photo is on my fundraiser page. She is the woman in the pink blouse standing in front of her current house with one of her children.

Natile has lived in this makeshift shelter since the 2010 earthquake. It has room for only 3 children, so 2 of her children have to live elsewhere. With a new house, all of her children can live with her in a safe, quake-resistant home.

I've uploaded a video that a colleague of mine produced with the testimony of another woman in the village who already has a new house. You can see her old, quake-destroyed house and the new house Medair built for her.

Your donation will make a huge impact in the lives of Natile and her children.

Actually, I'd really love to raise $6,000 for two more families, since Medair has the chance to help a total of 200 families in this project. But I thought I'd start out conservatively, and see where it leads!

I hope to post photos of Natile in her new home after it is built, as well as any other families we work together to get a decent roof over their heads.

My colleague in Haiti, Florance (Haitian who has also lived in the US) just sent a new photo of one of the houses Medair has already built, and I'm posting that now.

You can see a lot more about our work in Haiti on Medair's website at

Thank you for your support! Lynn

PS: I've just designed a "thank you certificate" that I'd be happy to customize and mail if you'd like to make a donation in honor of another person, or I'll send a holiday gift acknowledgment if you want to donate as a tribute gift to someone...hand created and mailed by me from Switzerland! Merci beaucoup!
