New Life for Chief
Organized by: Catherine Bray
Chief came into my life about a year ago. Belongs to someone who couldn't bother with taking the time to properly train a horse. A sweet little BLM Mustang gelding looking at me from mud covered fur and bloated belly. After working with him for a few months, I had him up and out of guided trails, doing pony rides and over all a nice trail horse. Then I quit my job and moved my horse away from the facility. Saddly after I left he went through two other owners who let him sit in a mud filled paster, no farrier, no vet calls, had his feed stolen by other horses and hand zero handling. So a few weeks ago I got the call and I jumped on the opportunity to get him out of that situation.. when I arrived he was bloated with worms, bite marks all over, rain rot to hell, completely scared out of his mind, knots sponsored knots sponsored knots in his over grown main and tail.. We got him in the trailer and away to a safe home where he is safe for now. But saddly I am in a tight spot and can't continue to care for him as well and my founder rescue and I need a bit of help.. I also can not find a rescue that will take him in cause they are over flowing and people around the town I live in are not horse savy. Now I am a veteran and have been using my.two horses as therapy horses for fellow wounded warriers to come and spend time with an animal that they can really connect to. It would really mean a lot if you could spare something for this great cause.
