We are the Marin County Search and Rescue Team, an all-volunteer program that supports search and rescue missions in Marin County and throughout Northern California. Our program has ninety members and includes 35 youth members, who are at the core of our program. In 2014, the unit had a record year, responding to a record 65 incidents, from Mendocino to Inyo County, for persons including a lost child in Samuel P. Taylor State Park, to an 81-year-old woman in San Rafael. So far this year, the unit has responded to more than 50 incidents and trained more than 25 new members to be a part of our team.
Now, it’s time to replace our 1998 Ford van that has been utilized heavily for the last seventeen years, carrying members to searches in Marin and many other counties in California. While the County of Marin is very generous in its support, they can only offer limited resources to replace our vehicles, so for this one we need to raise the money ourselves. As a result, we are reaching out to you - our community - to help us. All funds donated will go to our van replacement fund. We hope to have this project funded by Spring 2016. Our van is heavily utilized and replacing it with a reliable vehicle is very important to the team. We appreciate every donation, at every dollar amount, to support this effort.
For larger donations of $500 or more, please consider writing a check to Marin SAR so we get 100% of your donation!
