Next Generation Focus (NGF) is a not-for-profit organization formed to reach out to youth in economically challenged families in our community to provide resources to expand educational and enrichment opportunities.
Our Focus Programs empower new leaders of tomorrow through literacy achievement, teen leadership, and enrichment and educational programs that will make a positive impact on their lives.
Smarter Me Reading is a free tutoring program for children in grades K-5 who need help with basic reading comprehension, reaching grade level, incorporating reading into their daily lives and enhancing their educational performance in school by providing one-on-one tutoring sessions.
Smarter Me Math is a pilot program intended for students struggling to reach and maintain grade level skills in mathematics. Currently, it is offered to students in grades 3-5.
NGF Teens provides high school students an opportunity to give back to the community by volunteering as tutors. The teens are supervised by our adult mentors, many of whom are professional educators also volunteering their time. NGF intentionally recruits teen tutors so that we can instill a sense of social responsibility and community involvement, teach leadership and organizational skills, and focus their energy in a constructive manner.
FOCUS Aid provides financial assistance to students so they may participate in enrichment activities offered by school clubs. These include school-sponsored academic, sports, music, arts programs and class field trips. NGF partners with schools' social workers, counselors. and teachers to identify eligible students.
