The ability to enjoy wildlife is a birthright passed from one generation to the next and wildlife conservation is a responsibility each generation must undertake. To build the next generation of wildlife conservationists, Humanitarian Operations Protecting Elephants (H.O.P.E.) is working with the Washington DC Police Department, Washington DC National Guard, Wings Over America, Earth Conservation Corps and Reserve Protection Agency to provide at-risk youth with a program that engages them in outdoor recreation, increases environmental awareness and sets them on a path towards a career in natural resource management. The capstone experience of this program brings participants to South Africa to be immersed in the lives of rangers and anti-poaching units working to protect Africa's wildlife.

Your generous support for our work will allow us to construct an obstacle / confidence course for program participants, cover travel expenses for youth travelling to South Africa for their capstone experience, and create opportunities for more children to enter this one-of-a-kind program.
