Nia's Sophmore Year at Bishop Loughlin
Organized by: RJ Weaver
Hello Good People,
As many of you remember from last year, my school made a commitment to help raise the money to send one of our alums to Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School in Brooklyn. Nia was not matched with an appropriate public school, so we felt that we needed to do whatever we could to fulfill her dreams of attending and graduating from Loughlin. The outpouring of support last year was amazing. However, we are again asking for assistance to help Nia's family meet her tuition needs for 10th grade.
It was especially important to Nia's family to keep her in Ft Greene if possible so that she can help out with her two younger siblings, who you can see in the pictures we just added. Ariel is a rising 6th grader at Arts & Letters and Kyrie is a toddler. Nia has been responsible for picking up Ariel after school every day and can do so since Loughlin is just a few blocks away.
Those of you who contributed last year, please know that this was some of the best money you ever spent. Each time I have seen Nia, or her mother, they have been so genuinely grateful for the support. More importantly, Nia CRUSHED it during her Freshman year! She received an 86.6% overall average and told me that she was not happy with this and can do better. Nia made the Honor Roll and her Report Card is filled with "Student is a pleasure to have in class"...and she is just getting started. If you can contribute any amount this year, I promise you that it is money well spent. Nia is a special kid who was already motivated to succeed, but knowing that so many strangers cared for her in that way only pushed her harder and further. I never once had to tell her that we we're all counting on her, she knows it...and she will not let us down. Please feel free to share this with family and friends. I thank you in advance for your continued support.
