Nicaragua Missions Trip
Organized by: Alyssa Souza
As I've watched my friends go down to Nicaragua annually for the past 7 years, I have always said, "Next year I'll go with them", but I have yet to commit to this outreach missions trip. This year is different. In March I will be heading to the CICRIN Orphanage and school on the island of Ometepe in Nicaragua. If you didn't know, Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the western hemisphere, next to Haiti, so imagine the challenges and hardships facing all those who live there. With the rest of my team, coordinated by Adios Ministries of Portland, Maine, we will be involved in doing community work projects and educational outreach with the kids including music, crafts, sports, arts, games, and Bible lessons. Specifically, I will be working on the access road stabilization to the Adios Enterprise Farm. I am beyond excited for this trip, knowing that the 8 days spent at the orphanage will prove to be both a rewarding and challenging experience that will forever change my perspective on life. That being said, this missions trip does costs $1,700, and is a big expense for a high school student! I am asking you to, first and foremost, keep me and my teammates in your prayers, but I am also asking for your financial support. I’m not looking to be an extra financial burden on anyone, but instead, I’m asking you to consider making a one-time, tax deductible donation towards the cost of my trip. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. Any support will truly be appreciated!
