Nick's Run for Nora
Organized by: Nicholas Henke
EVENT DATE Nov 06, 2016
I will be running the New York City Marathon in memory of my daughter, Nora, who was stillborn at full-term in 2012. I’m using this opportunity to raise money for Pregnancy After Loss Support (PALS), an organization that supports families who have gone through a loss like Nora and who are going on to become pregnant or parent after their loss.

After my wife Lindsey got pregnant following Nora’s death the next nine months were filled with sadness, anxiety and joy. Lindsey and I spent our pregnancy with our second child speaking in terms of 'if' and not 'when' the baby arrived, so scared of opening are hearts up to being broken. In March of 2014 our belief in hope for a different outcome was rewarded as our daughter Zoe was born healthy and alive.
Following the loss of Nora we found support for families who have been through similar circumstances and we made some great friends; however during Lindsey’s subsequent pregnancy she realized there was gap that existed in the support provided to people dealing with the anxiety and fear of pregnancy following a loss. So Lindsey used her background and education as a therapist to create PALS. PALS is an online magazine and peer to peer support group that now supports over 4,000 moms in their online support groups and has over 13,000 subscribers to their magazine. The money raised will be used to expand services and continue to reach more mom and dads.
So today, we ask you to help support our legacy to our daughter Nora by donating to Nick's Run for Nora, with the proceeds benefiting PALS. On November 6th I will run 26.2 miles in honor of my little girl Nora.
