Hi, My name is Adrianna Westcott I am 10 years old. I play soccer and love to run, this year I am running another 5k, a triathalon and going to soccer camp. (soccer is my favorite sport).
Many of you know my mom Laura Tierno-Westcott. My mom was pregnant with my older sister Sydney when the Twin Tower's were attacked. She was there and so was my Auntie Dani. We were lucky and lost no family that day but, my mom and her family lost too many friends. My mom still cries about that day. I am going to run the Tunnel to Tower race in honor of her friend Nicky Rossomando. She knew him a long time. Nicky was part of Rescue 5 in Staten Island. Nicky was funny and made my mom and my Auntie Dani laugh all the time. My mom is going to volunteer down at the race and meet me at the end. She hasn't been there since the attacks. So, Please help me honor Nicky and everyother person who died on September 11th.
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT NICK:
Nick was a firefighter who lost his life on 9/11/01 while saving others. We created this fund to honor him and to keep his memory alive. We continue his legacy of helping others by presenting, on an annual basis, a monetary award to two Port Richmond High School graduating student athletes, who will be going on to college. The criteria: They must have faced great adversity, conquered it and gone on to achieve. (this is directly from the foundation's page).
