We did it!

Once again I am super excited to run with Team JDRF to help them achieve their mission: to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes and it's complications through the support of research. The money I raise will go directly to the supprt of this life-changing research, benefitting my 10yr old son Olly, and thousands like him around the world!
Olly was only 4yrs old when he was diagnosed. It was a huge shock to us all and yet Olly handled it right from the beginning like the champ he is, taking all the insulin injections, carb counting, site changes and 10+ daily blood sugar checks in his stride and without so much as shedding a tear - unlike me. There were a lot of things the family had to learn and at a very quick pace, however with the strong support from friends and family around the world, T1D is something we have learnt to manage so that Olly can continue to thrive and live a normal life like every other 10yr old. His love for sport has never waned and the first thing he asked his endocrinologist when he was diagnosed was: "Can I still play football?". He has continued his dream of playing football and now wears an insulin pump (just like Jay Cutler*) and removes it only when he is on the field. Olly has become very good at managing his diabetes on his own and knowing what he can and cannot eat, what will affect him and what the carbs are in certain foods. That management though, no matter how good he gets at it, is NOT a cure and that with financial support, a cure could actually be found within Olly's lifetime!
Donating to the JDRF is a great way to make a difference in the millions of lives of people affected by T1D. Please take the time to consider making a donation. Olly and all those affected with T1D THANK YOU! Together we WILL cure T1D!
*Olly has asked me to note that the Bears are not his favorite team, even though he supports Jay Cutler. He is an AVID Steelers fan! Long live Ben Roethlisberger!
**We recently moved to London and Olly now participates in a different type of football, he loves playing but his heart is still with American football, thank goodness for the Red Zone package on Sky here in the UK!
