BENEFITING: WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
First and foremost, I want to say THANK YOU for your support!
I chose to run the NYC Marathon representing the Wounded Warrior Project for many reasons. Helping wounded veterans is not only something I take very seriously, but it is also something very personal to me. I come from a long line of military service members - representing the Marines, Navy, Air Force, and Army. Most recently, my brother, a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, returned after serving multiple tours in Afghanistan.
The Wounded Warrior Project provides invaluable services for veterans, one of their core creeds deeply resonated with me - "Not all wounds are visible to the human eye".
Deployments to war-zones change service members and their families. Exposure to combat and operational experiences affects our veterans spiritually, psychologically, biologically, and socially. The Wounded Warrior Project offers much needed support to veterans who are struggling with the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, and a host of other invisible wounds of war. They help to combat the stigma associated with mental injuries and teach that asking for help is STRENGTH, not WEAKNESS.
THANK YOU again for donating. Your support allows for the opportunity to further the WWP mission – to honor and empower the brave Wounded Warriors of our nation.
