Nicole's Mission Trip to Dominican Republic
Organized by: Nicole Finley
This March over spring break, I will be headed to the Dominican Republic with a group of students from Auburn University. This group will be working with staff members for Filter of Hope, a non-profit organization, distributing water filters to people in desperate need of clean drinking water. The reason these filters are so desperately needed is that people in impoverished communities across the globe are dying of cholera, diarrhea, and a host of other diseases. A child dies every twenty seconds from a preventable water-related disease. According to the Centers for Disease Control, these inexpensive, point of use water filters could decimate 45% of water-related deaths in our world. The part of this mission I am most excited about is the opportunity to share wisdom and life with those who will be receiving these filters. I am given the chance to share the truth that Jesus is the living water, and I get to do so in a way that is so full of love and hope in the midst of circumstances that might be so lacking in both. Whether through prayer or financial support, I would be enormously grateful to have you as a partner for my time in the DR and would love for you to be able to share my incredible experience. I am SO excited to be a part of the hands and feet of the will of The Lord this spring in the Dominican and also in each day of life. I would love to answer any questions or chat about anything! Thank you again for investing your time and heart into my journey!
